Greetings,
I wanted to know, i recently tried to use the cardbook Thunderbird add-on to synchronise using cardDav with memotoo, but it seems it does not work, I contacted the author of the add-on, and he seems to think its an issue with the memotoo proxy or firewall.. Do you plan to add support for cardbook soon, otherwise, any excellent alternatives to Thunderbird contacts sync?

The author of the add on is also very interested on the result of this investigation...

I have tried Cardbook and now the sync works better but impossible to get the contacts from Memotoo.
Can you tell to the author of this app to test with the demo account ? as his he can tell me what is wrong.

The contacts are not retrieved because Memotoo uses the old version for vCards, version 2.1, which is not supported by CardBook... is it possible to use the version 3.0 ?

Ok now for CardBook the vCard version is 3.0.

I get an error through https, but i think this is a cardbook issue - I will contact the author... with the http version it works but not completely...

The vCard data you send i think is using quoted-printable escaping for accented characters, which is not allowed for vCard 3.0, so it appears messed up in cardbook. I think with UTF-8 encoding it should work though?

Great, accented characters now work correctly!!! Thank you very much! There is still one small issue though, but I am really not sure if this is a cardbook or memotoo issue, but notes with newlines appear with a \r in cardbook... I am not sure why though, but maybe its a cardbook issue.

Ok I have corrected the porblem of "\r" in cardbook

Today June 22nd 2017 I tried to connect Memotoo to Thunderbird by using CardBook.
Somehow it does not work.
The CardBook log file shows:
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:2.1
REV:20170622T202508Z
UID:memotooContact55149430
N:Tr ............
Error message: Only vCards version 3.0 or 4.0 supported

Is Memotoo on https://webdav.memotoo.com/cardDAV/ still or again using the vCard 2.1 version?

Additional info:
The problem came up after a sync using the SOGo connector.
Does the server somehow remember the type of connector and the associated vCard version?
Anyhow a restart of Thunderbird using a disabled SOGo connector did not solve the problem.

Sync from CardBook to Memotoo works (vCard 3.0).
Sync from Memotoo to CarBook still gives an error mentioning vCard 2.1:

I'm also having the problem that Henk describes. I was using SOGo, so I disabled it and restarted Thunderbird, but CardBook is failing with the error:
