I have selected the option for memotoo to add birthdays as events.

These sync well with outlook via active sync - yet i can't seem to manage to sync them with google calendar.

Is there a way to do this?

Yes it is possible:
1. Add the "birthdays as event" setting in Memotoo: https://www.memotoo.com/fr/my-calendar.php?rub=prefs
2. Create a calendar "Birthdays" in your Google calendar
3. Sync it with the category of "birthdays as event" of your Memotoo account
