Hello,

I noticed that at some point, probably when I imported all my contacts from Palm to Memotoo, lots of contacts that are only companies (no person name) appeared in Memotoo with the last name as "unnamed".

I want to change those, to have an empty last name, like all other ones.

I made a search for "unnamed", and can select all of them. But the multiple-edit doesn't allow me to change the last name.

What's the way to do this change then?

Thanks

The problem is actually worse than I thought, because on my phone, all "unnamed" contacts appear as one single contact, with dozens of addresses and phone numbers and company names!!

OK, I just fixed it myself. Here's how, in case someone needs to do the same:

1) Export/backup all your contacts to a VCF file
2) Open the VCF file in a good text editor, like PSPad
3) Search for "unnamed". Notice that entries that are "unnamed" have "unnamed" twice, once after N and once after FN
4) Replace all instances of "unnamed" with an empty string. The total number of occurrences will be 2 x the number of contacts (because of 3 above)
5) save the VCF file
6) back in memotoo, import the VCF file. Don't worry, because duplicates will not be created
7) All entries that were "unnamed" and now are blank are added. The "unnamed" ones remain.
8) Search for "unnamed". Select all "unnamed" contacts and delete them.

Voilá.
