I tried out Memotoo some weeks ago and liked the basic concept and functionality pretty much. But I had some trouble with special fields in my phones address book and I still don't understand how to work/sync with multiple calendars. I couldn't find documentation on this and tried to get support via the web form and also here on the forum but didn't get any reply.

It appears to me that memotoo is driven by one person (Thomas) who tries to help as good as possible, but just can't keep up with everything. I know and understand that there is a lot to do and responding to everybody is not easy. But we are talking about giving away some of my most precious and sensible data (all my contacts, todos, appointments, notes,...) and I don't want to share this data with some company I can't rely on.

Here is what I expect from a sync service like memotoo:

- No data lock-in; flexible export facilities [ok on memotoo]

- SyncML compatible; generally based around open standards [ok on memotoo]

- 100% Reliable synchronisation: no lost data; no duplicates [maybe ok on memotoo; not enough experience on my side; I had some trouble with notes synchronisation]

- 100% Privacy: no selling/usage of private data [probably ok on memotoo; as far as I can tell from the translated terms of use / privacy statement -> english version would be fine]

- Data protection and site security by design: transport encryption; secure website, secure hosting, reliable backups, good programming practices (awareness of XSS, SQL-injection,...); maybe even encrypted data storage. I know, there is no 100% bug-free and secure program - but the more I know (the more the service tells me) about where and how my data is stored and what counter measures are taken against attacks, the better I can judge if I want to trust my data to the service. [not enough information about these things on memotoo]

- Reliable support through forums and mail [not good enough on memotoo]

- Price: Not that important; ideally around/below 10 EUR / month

Does anybody know a service like this?

regards,
Mark
