The SyncPlaces add-on for Firefox has been abandoned by its author. I tried it anyway, but got an error; after a quick search, it seems the add-on doesn't work with SSL connections in recent FFox versions.

Can a new method be created for Firefox bookmark sync, please? Cheers, and happy holidays.

It is a bad news that "Daniel Lange" has stopped the dev of SyncPlaces...

For your problem, use this version v5.1.0C, I have done a modification and I think now it works fine:

I tried the 5.1.0c version of SyncPlaces, but it won't let me type in the "user" and "password" fields (the fields are disabled). As a result I always get an authentication error when trying to sync. Is there a fix or other way to sync Firefox bookmarks? Thanks.

I'm agree with you it seems it is not possible to enter the login/password in the settings ...

You can change the Host with this value to sync without enter login/password each time:
login: password@sync.memotoo.com
(replace "login" and "password" with yours)

Thanks for the quick reply! I added my user and password to the URL as you suggested, and it did get past the authentication step. However, then the transfer failed with the message:

Method Not Allowed
The requested method PUT is not allowed for the URL /syncplaces.xml.sha1.

Any ideas?
